〈東北福祉大展望〉
東北福祉大学は、仙台六大学野球秋季リーグにおいて、１０勝、負け無しで３４季連続となる優勝を果たした。また、個人成績においても根本俊一が打率５割３分３厘を記録し、最優秀選手と首位打者を獲得した。さらに、６人がベストナインを獲得するなど、文句ない成績で優勝した。
リーグ戦優勝後、東北・北海道地区大学野球王座決定戦において、準決勝を７対１、決勝では八戸大学に延長戦の末、３対２で辛勝し、神宮大会へ駒を進めた。
投手陣は神宮大会出場大学の中でもトップクラスである。先発を任される、松崎伸吾は切れ味鋭いスライダーが武器である。主に抑えを任されている福田聡志は、ＭＡＸ１５３キロを誇るストレートに、高速スライダーが武器である。
打撃陣は春季、秋季の両リーグ戦で最優秀選手を受賞した根本俊一が鍵を握る。５割を超える打率と、大学トップクラスの俊足を備えている。であろう。また、４番を打つ目黒達也は、リーグ戦において最多打点とベストナインを獲得した。法大の投手陣にとって、この二人は要注意人物である。
初戦の創価大学戦では、松崎、小迫の完封リレーで、初回に出た根本俊一の本塁打を守り、１対０で勝利した。
明日の東北福祉大学戦は法大にとって、厳しい試合になるだろう。特に松崎、福田の投手陣は強力である。しかしこの２人を打たずして、勝利はないだろう。リーグでも好調だった１～４番の３年カルテット、そして今日の試合２安打と好調の５番・犬童の活躍が鍵になっていくだろう。
